Controlled Accidents Num. 4, Rollerblade Solo Testing, Mizu Blading

This is me testing out the new Rollerblade Solo Skate which hits stores January 09′. After my first grind I fell in love, then immediately started filming not even 10 minutes after I strapped them on and put little grooves in the Soul Plates. During this session alot of tricks that I used to do back in 97′-98′ began to come back naturally. Switch Torque was the one I was most excited about. I did a switch torque then fakie 270 front torque line which was not shown because I didn’t like the way my right foot came off, but you will be seeing more of them in the future. True torque comeback? New info soon to come on the New Rollerblade Solo, my experience with them, and other torque news.

I was going to start this paragraph off with “It’s weird how you stop doing tricks you used to do back in the day,” but as soon as I said that I understood what that description. I personally stop doing things sometimes because after I do it, I don’t want to repeat the same thing, I wan’t to do something new. Something I did however many years ago is labeled “old” to me, but I am slowly realizing that this is a very ignorant and limited way of thinking. I should do all the maneuvers I desire regardless of how “old” or even “new” they are.

You see Rollerblading to me is a moving artform much like dancing or martial arts, and I appreciate those who move with this distinct flow or water like form. This to my eyes is the most appealing and enjoyable to watch, and those which exhibit this are my favorites. The most recent name I can think of after watching a Youtube section of his is ironically Chiaki Ito. It does not surprise me at all, as being from Japan it is embedded in his genes to be so. I hope one day to visit Japan, and be influenced by its fluid rolling nature. Here is An examply of that from a video called “Bloodstained Concrete”. Much respect Chiakisan!

  4. Dirty Show 2 – I bladed yesterday for the first time in months… It was very radical and it felt amazing to have earth floatation devices strapped on. When you coming back to the A?

  5. [...] Controlled Accidents Fourth Edit Published June 27, 2008 Industry News Rob Guerrero has just updated his blog with his first edit. In the edit Rob is testing the new Rollerblade Solo skate. Not much information has been released on the skate, but what I can see from the edit is that it is blue, and if Rob’s skating is any indication on how they handle, than Rollerblade has a winner on their hands. The skate is supposed to be available on January 9th, so fairly soon. For more information go HERE. [...]

  6. Thanks for providing some dialog Rob. Flow like water is right!

  7. Ya its a great feeling finding a trick you had lost a long time ago. And you suddenly remember random stuff from your life during that time period that you had long forgotten along with the trick.
