Puerto Rico Trip Update Part 2, Box Jam Edit

Gilbert Marrero and his daughter (photo above) From Waves and Wheels Skate Shop hosted a box jam session and Tato made this edit out of what went down.  It was really cool to see all the people show up and bust.  Here are some photos from that day…

It is super hot most the time in Puerto Rico so most of the time I go shirtless. Shirtless is the way to go obviously because it keeps you cool, but also makes shirts wearable for more then one day which is really hard to accomplish here.

This is me of course just about to put my skates on. My energy levels were pretty high for the first 15 minutes and then they kinda faded and I lost focus. During that time I was able to get a clip in the edit which was the alyoop P-Star to soul. I had never done this before, but thought about just trying it because I have been doing my AO P-Stars with out moving the direction I was looking. Doing this and coming out forward feels really cool. I was trying to spin out 360 the opposite way as well but was having a hard time with it.

These are the only photos I have from that box jam session sorry…BUT I do have plenty of photos from my trip to Old San Jaun which I made the other day…

Here is me at the Cemetery right next to  El Moro.

And another photo of the cemetery as well as El Moro in the background.

Here is a a “witches” grave that Abdiel Colberg showed me the last time I was here. He knew more about it, but I can’t remember any of the story so…wa wa wa. If you ever go to old San Juan and get to go to the cemetary near El Moro I suggest you check it out. If you are facing the entrance of the cematary, then you would go right and at the end of the corner, if you look over the wall  you can see it

And this is me getting my Karate Kid Crane stance on at El Morro.

Me next to one of the walls at El Morro. There is crazy history behind this fort which I don’t remember the half of, but it would be good to look into its history as well as San Juans.

Ariel and I at El Morro looking off into the distance. There is a bowl in La Perla that he is trying to show me where its by.

Here is Ariel at one of the corners of the fort. Where the water is at in this photo is also supposed to be one of the deepest parts of the Ocean and one point on the Bermuda Triangle. This is what I remember Christian Rodriguez telling me the last time we came here, so it might not be EXACT information, but its something like that. I should start paying attention to details. And street signs. And just names of things in general.

If your really want to get into some Gangster Sh*t, you can walk further down and hang out in La Perla. I wouldn’t advise it though unless your with some people who are familiar with the area.

This is a Street in Old San Juan. Above it it has a picture of Saint Francis of Asissi. Saint Francis was the man. I read a biography about him once. There was also a street called San Jose but I didn’t get it. Boo hoo.

Another extremely hospitable Puerto Rican was Rafy Cruz. This is a picture of some of the crew chilling and eating fruit on Rafy’s family farm. The farm was way deep in the mountains and had horses, chickens, and all kinds of fruit trees. When I woke up in the morning, there were Mangos, Cacao, and other fruit I didn’t know the name of that Rafy Gathered that morning for us to eat. The mangos here are some of the best I have ever had in my life and whats best is that they were fresh. I’m used to paying like 2 dollars for my mango addiction at whole foods, so this was truly a blessing.

While I was cutting a mango, I heard a bunch of screaming and saw Acho Papi running away yelling. They said they saw something running across the grass. I was hoping it was the legendary chupa cabra, but it was actually this Iguana. Or at least I think this is an iguana. Either way its a big dinosaur looking thing and after scaring everybody it ran up this tree and decided to chill.

After our farm experience was over and we were driving back to Tato’s, we stopped on the side of the road to take this picture of Me and Ariel as well as some others…

Last time I was here I went and stayed at Abdiels house deep in the jungle/rainforest I got a picture of myself doing a headstand, so this time I decided to get another one and this time Tato joined me.

Here is the original Puerto Rican Posse from my last trip. Tato, Ariel, and myself.

And now I will leave you with this last photo. It’s not a photo from Puerto Rico, but a photo my friend Megs sent me in New York. I thought it was pretty sweet and simple.

SO….stay tuned for more updates as my trip progresses. I am here for 6 more days and then it’s off to NY for an appearence at Blades, as well as the contest at the brooklyn banks on the 20th. Hope you enjoyed all hte updates..I’ve been updating for like the last 3 days and have logged I don’t know how many hours on my computer.

Holler at a player when you see me on the streets…
